H206 VVF was purchased to replace G977 EGM when I'd killed her and been through the motions with the insurance company. I bought her in December 2005 after looking really hard for 3 months. I wanted a car that was as close to my first as possible in terms of specification - I ended up with this, close but not perfect although this ones turning out to be a bit of a monster. Initially I was planning on recreating the now famous G977 EGM down to the last bolt however, once I started I thought it was a shame to do the same thing over again so I ended up making some small changes....I went for more of a euro feel with German plates, orange lenses and 2 piece, body coloured split rims....this wasn't to last long though - I missed the old look too much so as I type its being put back to how G977 EGM looked...well, pretty much!

Then back to the old look....with a twist ;-)

Engine & Transmission: 4 Cylinder fuel injected engine. 2498cc, light alloy cylinder head with twin overhead cams and 16 valves. Mechanical/electronic fuel injection with cut off. Microprocessor controlled ignition. Approx 205bhp  @ 6200rpm and 175 ft/lb torque @ 4500rpm. factory 4-branch tubular manifold, Remus back box, K&N performance air filter. 0-60mph approx 6.9 seconds, top speed approx 150mph. Getrag 5-speed close ratio manual gear box with "dog-leg" first gear and direct 5th gear. 3.27 rear diff with ASD (self locking diff). Short shifter kit.

2.5 16v Recent partial rebuild with: new timing chain and new style tensioner. All 3 guide rails replaced (not just the top one like most people do!) overhauled cylinder head with all valves re seated and 8 new exhaust valves. All valve gaps correctly set - a very important job! VERY quiet for one of these engines! New genuine head gasket and new head bolts. New alternator. Magnacor leads, fresh oil, filters, plugs, etc, etc. New genuine injectors. Kenlowe electric fan with automatic thermostat. Mocal oil cooler mounted behind front bumper. Straight through single pipe exhaust from turbo to Remus twin pipe back box.

Runs a super rare Mossleman turbo conversion. T4 turbo with custom front mount alloy intercooler. Utilises stock fuelling and ignition with an additional in line ECU that richens when boost is sensed. Runs at approx 7psi and puts out approx 250/260bhp. This kit used to cost over £4k on its own - its obviously no longer available. The epitome of rare 16v tuning parts. Cast iron manifold, Mossleman embossed. Turbo oil return to custom fitment into side of block.

Suspension/Steering: Shock absorber strut independent front with wishbones and anti dive, negative offset steering, multi link independent rear suspension with 5 links per wheel, anti dive and anti squat control. Electronically controlled auto locking differential (ASD) Eibach 29mm front anti roll bar, EVO2 18mm rear anti roll bar with W124 metal end-links. Adjustable Koni Sports shocks front and rear, 40mm H&R lowering springs, 1 bump spring pads front and rear - SLS removed. PAS, collapsible column, 3.5 turns lock to lock.

SLS system has been removed but all pipe work, etc is in place as is the SLS pump on the engine as this locks the diff for the traction control mechanism.

Koni sports adjustable front and rear. H & R Springs -40mm drop. No1 bump spring pads front and rear. 30mm front Eibach anti roll bar with modified brackets, uses stock Merc bushes super rare! Rear Mercedes 190EVO2 rear anti roll bar (18mm) (super rare!) also features metal drop links from a Mercedes W124. Also have custom made adjustable rear camber arms so you can go low and not kill the inside edges of your tyres.

When I built the suspension up, the entire rear sub frame was removed and acid dipped before being painted black. The diff had its oil changed and was painted.. The entire rear frame was rebuilt with every single new arm and bush being replaced with new. New sub frame mounts. Its very clean under there!

The front was also treated to the same treatment. Stripped, cleaned and painted. New ball joints, new steering damper, new track arms, etc, etc - there aren’t many things that will match this car point to point, with increased poke, sorted suspension and brakes, this car really can move.

Brakes/Wheels/Tyres: Dual circuit power assisted braking system. Wilwood Dynalite aluminium 4-pot calipers with 310mm vented, drilled disks on front. Fixed caliper disk brakes at rear with drilled Black Diamond disks and Blackstuff pads, vacuum brake booster, wear sensors, ABS, EBC Redstuff ceramic brake pads front, Goodridge stainless steel brake hoses. 17x7.5J, ET35, 5x112 ASA FR7 2 Piece Wheels with colour coded middles, 215/40/17 tyres.
